PA0GN, Han B Gortz, was already active in 1919, he was one of the founding members of the Vereniging van Radio Zend Amateurs in the Netherlands. After his death in 1959 friends paid the license as tribute to his achievements.
The callsign is owned by VRZA and assigned to the chapter 19 Groningen. Since 1974 very active contesting, as PA0GN, PA4GN, PA50GN, PA6GN and PI4GN, by a very stable group of operators who have succeeded in making it the most successful multi operator vhf+ contest-station in the Netherlands. Several DX-peditions were made to Andorra, France, Gotland, Liechtenstein, Austria and more.
